Every Time It Rains is the story of every girl who has ever had her heart broken. And been brave enough to love again.

A story about a girl Laila who was once in love, it left her hurt and grieving, but also stronger. She had braved the storm and knew she would be okay in the rain. Until he offered her an umbrella and showed her life could be so better than ‘okay’.

This book was a quick read, it took me only 2 days to read it.

I loved the story and the fact that, it was a sad story but still it was not depressing. This book  is an emotional rollercoaster.

This book is a sequel of her previous book Like a Love Song. But if you haven’t read it, don’t worry, you’ll still be able to understand the plot.

The language  isn’t complicated, as the writer has used millennial path to reach the contemporary circle. The characters are well woven, making you feel that they exist in real life, which makes the bibliophiles to not get away from the book even after completing the read.

The story has some sweet and weird moments between Laila and JD, that will not let you break up from this book. For eg: JD offers an orange instead of flowers to Laila as a token of love.

The ending didn’t  create a lot of suspense, it was known that it would be a happy ending.

This book  first broke me in a way that most sad books do, but the ending made me feel happy and motivated.

This book will surely encourage the readers to give their life a second chance, if they have suffered just like Laila and Maahi.

Favorite line: “It’s like a writer with a beautiful story in his head, sitting in front of a laptop with an empty document “
